CubClub is a custom web application that allows the instructor to use the CubWorks handwriting method to it's fullest potential. It is purchased on a per user, one-year, subscription basis. Instructional components in CubClub are divided into 3 sections: Printing Skill Builders, Fine Motor Skill Builders & Interactive Whiteboard.

 

Printing Skill Builders

Instructors create practice worksheets for individual letters, numbers, words & phrases.Examples of worksheets are show below. For continuity the pictures and stories used in this skill building component are identical to those used in the student workbook.

Fine Motor-Skill Builders

Utilize worksheets designed to enhance fine motor skills & letter/number formations simultaneously.
Instructors create or implement activities provided in the CubClub tutorial.  Activities are applicable for entire classrooms, small groups or centers, & one-on-one situations. The pictures & stories used in this skill building component are identical to those used in the student workbook to maintain continuity.  

 
 
Activity:

Secure 1.5” thick foam core to easel or vertical
work surface such as a wall. Worksheet taped to foam core. Student uses pincers finger to push toothpick into each circle of letter. Place cheerios or colored beads onto each toothpick to show letter/number. 

Develops:

Arm, wrist & finger strength, skilled side of hand,
in-hand manipulation, open web space, eye-hand coordination, & letter/number formations.

Activity:

Student uses tongs to grasp small objects,
(split peas, pom-poms, cheerios etc.). Objects
released one at a time onto drops of glue to form
letter or number.   

Develops:

Wrist & finger strength, arches in hand, skilled side of hand, eye-hand coordination & letter/number formations.

Activity:

Student picks up 2-3 Lite Brite Pegs with one hand & “hides” pegs in the palm. Pegs placed one at a time into each circle to form letter or number.

Develops:

formations.

Color, cut, & paste with every letter & number. Maximize eye hand coordination, visual perceptual skills, cutting, bi-manual skills & letter/number formations simultaneously with this activity.

 
 

 

Activity:

Students color pictures associated with a letter or number. Pictures are cut out then organized/glued on paper to match the model. Model shown in this example the red “m” on yellow paper.  

Develops:

Eye-hand coordination, visual perceptual skills, scissor skills, bi-manual skills and letter/number formations.
